What is Storytellathon?

Storytellathon creates a space where young people explore cultural heritage as a lived and shared experience, connecting monuments, places, traditions, people, and communities.

Through storytelling, participants reflect on the meaning of heritage in their own lives and exchange experiences and perspectives across cultures.

Why it is important?

Cultural heritage lives through the people who interpret it, share its stories, and give it meaning.

Storytellathon gives young people an active role in this process, developing skills in observation, interpretation, and communication while strengthening their awareness of the cultural value of their territories.

Through their stories, heritage becomes a resource for dialogue, respect for cultural diversity, and mutual understanding.

How it works?

– Explore:
Observe and interpret places, heritage, and communities.

– Tell:
Turn your experience into a story and share it.

– Exchange:
Engage with experiences and perspectives from different cultures.

– Connect:
Contribute to a shared narrative based on dialogue and reciprocity.

Heritage, community and dialogue

The narratives collected through Storytellathon bring together different perspectives on people, places, and communities.

Each contribution offers a unique interpretation of cultural heritage and becomes part of a shared space for intercultural dialogue.

Together, these stories show how heritage can create common ground for mutual understanding, participation, and peacebuilding.

A program for students and teachers

Storytellathon brings together universities, schools, teachers, and students in an international experience of learning, exchange, and collaboration.

The program encourages intercultural exchange, the sharing of experiences, and the active involvement of new generations in exploring, interpreting, and communicating cultural heritage.
