Set of five nested hand painted wooden eggs which represent (from the largest to the smallest) the Virgin Mary and Baby Jesus enthroned; The Virgin and Jesus (second and third), Jesus (fourth) and a dove(the smallest). The eggs decorated in polychrome egg tempera and gold glitter with a technique similar to icon painting. The base of the eggs are painted to simulate semi-precious tiger-eye stones.
