October 12, 2013, Palazzo Vecchio – Florence (32nd Edition). The award (Premio Columbus) gives recognition to those that have represented in various fields of science, art and enterprise a bridge between Italy and the United States.
The event commemorates the day Christopher Columbus set foot on America. The award aims to recognize the high merits of people in every field, whom have demonstrated the spirit of “civilization-builders” – the same spirit that inspired Christopher Columbus.
The award consists of:
