International Initiative of Georgian Cultural Studies at Georgian Arts and Culture Center
0108 Tbilisi - Georgia
Description:
Georgian culture, an integral part of Caucasian civilization, has been and is created at the crossroads of European and Asian influences. Over the centuries this culture has represented tolerance and mutual understanding, and while keeping its national identity it emphasizes the potential breadth and depth and rewards of intercultural relations maintained with understanding and integrity. The goal of the Symposium is to introduce scholars and professionals working in the field of Georgian and Caucasian art and culture to each other on Italian ground and to familiarize international audiences with the broad spectrum of scholarly work that exists in the ever-expanding field of Georgian and Caucasian cultural studies. The aim of the project is to establish the networking among the scientists and provide them with an unprecedented forum for scientific exchange. By doing so, the Organizing Committee intends to increase the level of academic interest on topics concerning Georgian arts and culture, preservation of cultural heritage, art management and cultural tourism.
