a.International Integration Meetings in Florence Winter 2000-2001

1st Week of Faculties of Architecture (13th -20th November 2000)

International Integration Meetings involving professors and students from faculties of Architecture of Bratislava, Budapest, Cracow, Prague and Warsaw. Theme of the week: "Carrying on Eurenaissance Project: Influences of Renaissance Florentine Art of the first half of 16th century, in many European cities: Student’s works exhibition and prize - giving"

This project wanted to be a contribute in the education of the students about the discovery of common roots, which overcome any political border and/or generation gap, and the development of communication among people of different cultures, thanks to a better mutual knowledge or the active contribution of people coming from different cultural areas, in order to reach common goals

Works realised by students guests were showed and introduced on Friday evening 17th November 2000 in the premises of Vivahotel Alexander. On that occasion, there was the prize - giving of the work group, where people of different countries best worked together.

The students projects after were exposed in an exhibition in the premises of Architecture Faculty in Prague on 28th April 2001.

2nd Week of Architecture and Music (20TH -27TH November 2000)

This week has represented an international character and a multidisciplinary character, infect two different cultural areas were interested.

  • Architecture: International Integration Meetings involving students from the Faculties of Architecture of Budapest, Florence, Minks, Moscow, Prague, Torun and Warsaw. Theme of the week: "Lowitt’s Mill: looking for new use of old purpose-built buildings"

Participating Professor: 10 Participating Students: 27

This project had the object to make a moment of meeting and exchange of knowledge between students on reusing matters, with a specific object in a building in Prague. The works presented in this occasion were showed in a documentary exhibition in Santa Verdiana’s Showroom of the Faculty of Architecture of Florence.

Works realised by students participants were showed on the Friday evening 17th November 2000 in the premises of Vivahotel Alexander. As usual, on that occasion there was the prize- giving of the work group, where people of different countries best worked together.

  • Music: International Concert "Ensemble of Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation" with the co-operation of professors and students of Music Academy of Bratislava, of Bydgoszcz, of Cracow, of Gdansk, of Poznan, in the premises of Conservatory "L. Cherubini" of Florence

Professors participating: 7 Participating Students: 12

At the end of a week of training in Florence, the students had plaid in a concert music of Bazelaire, Purcell, Popper, Rachmaninov, Dvorak, Bruch, Barrios, Wieniawski, Moniuszko and Mozart. On this exhibition there is a film that the Music Academy of Bratislava has given to the Foundation.

3rd Week of Fine Arts Academies (27th November- 4TH December 2000)

International Integration Meetings among professors and students coming from Fine Arts Academies of Cracow, Prague and Torun. Theme of the week: "International Panorama"

This project wanted to rouse students’ artistic expressiveness, about important topics for the Foundation’s mission, such as friendship, brotherhood and peace, using typical images of cities participating to the initiative.

Professors and students than visited the International School of Specialisation in Graphic Arts "Il Bisonte" and its Art Gallery, thanks to the co-operation of its management.

Works realised by guests students were showed and introduced on Friday evening 1st December 2000 in the premises of Vivahotel Alexander. As usual, on that occasion there was the prize-giving of the work group, where people of different countries best worked together.

4th Week of Faculties of ARchitecture (4TH -11TH December 2000)

International Integration Meeting involving professors and students from the faculties of Architecture of Belgrade, London, Nova Sad, Sofia and Zagreb. Theme of the week: "Reinventing South-East European (Balkan) cities: multicultural tradition of urban space in view of free city of Renaissance and integration European heritage: first part" .

Participating Professors: 5 Participating Students:26 26

This week ( first of a two weeks project) wanted to rouse the students of Balkan area in a urban comparative study, which examines the different conceptions of urban space presents in the different culture involved, comparing with the Florentines city characters.

Works realised by participating students, were showed and introduced on Thursday evening 7th December 2000 in the premises of Vivahotel Alexander. As usual, on that occasion there was the prize -giving of the work group, where people of different countries best worked together.

5th Week of Faculties of Architecture (11TH -18TH December 2000)

International Integration Meetings involving professors and students of faculties of Architecture of Belgrade, Cagliari, Nova Sad, Pristine e Zagabria. The theme of the week: "Reinventing South-East European (Balkan) cities: multicultural tradition of urban space in view of free city of Renaissance and integration European heritage: second part"

Participating Professors: 4 Participating Students: 26

This week ( the second in a project of two weeks) wanted to rouse the students of Balkan area in a urban comparative study, which examines the different conceptions of urban space presents in the different culture involved, comparing with the Florentines city characters. Works by students were shown the evening of 14th December 2000 at Vivahotel Alexander. As usual, on that occasion there was the prize -giving of the work group, where people of different countries best worked together. In that evening also all employee of Romualdo Del Bianco Foundation’s supporting firms were present, in occasion of the traditional "Christmas Dinner"

6th Week of Academies of Fine Arts (15th – 22nd January 2001)

International Integration Meetings involving professors and students of the Academies of Fine Arts of Riga, Tallin, Torun and the School of Specialisation of State Institute of Art of Florence. The theme of the week: "Frescos in Florence"

Participating Professors: 4 Participating Students: 20

This workshop wanted to rouse the students in different expressive fresco’s techniques inspired by some subjects suggested by the philosophy of international integration of the Foundation, such as friendship, brotherhood, peace. Works by students were shown the evening of 19th of January 2002 at Vivahotel Alexander. As usual, on that occasion there was the prize -giving of the work group, where people of different countries best worked together. Then they have been shown for two weeks at State Institute of Art of Florence.

7th Week of Faculties of History of Art (5th – 12th February 2001)

International Integration Meetings involving professors and students of the Faculties of History of Art of Bratislava, Budapest e Kyoto. The theme of the workshop was: "The influence of Italian mediaeval frescos: a project for their conservation"

Participating Professors: 11 Participating Students: 25

During the week were present also students and professors of Technical University of Cracow This workshop wanted to rouse the students the knowledge of ancient Italian frescos, also thanks to exclusive visits to the laboratories of Uffizi Gallery and of Opificio delle Pietre Dure.

Works by students were shown the evening of 9th of February at Vivahotel Alexander. As usual, on that occasion there was the prize -giving of the work group, where people of different countries best worked together.

8th Week of Faculties of History of Art and Architecture (12th –19th February 2001)

This week has represented an international character and a multidisciplinary character, infect two different cultural areas were interested.

  • History of Art: International Integration Workshop involving professors and students of the Faculties of History of Art of Budapest, Cluj, Gdansk e Torun, entitled: "Florentine Renaissance paintings in Central European Museums (1300-1500)"

Participating Professors: 8 Participating Students: 32

This workshop aimed to create an occasion of meeting and exchange among students of different countries, through the study of many important masterpieces inspired by the Florentine renaissance tradition.

  • Architecture: International Integration Workshop involving professors and students of the Technical University of Budapest, the faculty of Architecture of Ljubljana and of the Central European University of Budapes, entitled: "Architecture and applied art in the Florentine building facades: analysis and conservation problems"

Participating Professors: 5 Participating Students: 18

This workshop aimed to create an occasion of meeting and exchange among students of different countries, through the study of the problems connected to the restoration of ancient Florentine renaissance building facades.

Works by students were shown the evening of 16th of February 2001 at Vivahotel Alexander. As usual, on that occasion there was the prize-giving of two different work groups (one from History of Art and the other from Architecture), where people of different countries best worked together.

9th Week of Faculties of Architecture (26th February – 5th March 2001)

International Integration Workshop involving professors and students of the Faculties of Architecture of Bratislava, Brno, Florence, Minsk, Montpellier, Moscow. The theme was: "Conservation and reusing of cultural architectural heritage for future"

Participating Professors: 9 Participating Students: 38

In this workshop were present also 2 students from Taipei (Taiwan), thanks to the co-operation of the Foundation for European Cultural Exchange.

This workshop aimed to create an occasion of meeting and exchange of knowledge among students, by study the problems of architectural reusing of a building in Florence.

Works by students were shown the evening of 2nd of March 2001 at Vivahotel Alexander. As usual, on that occasion there was the prize-giving of a work, where people of different countries best worked together

10th Week of U.N.E.S.C.O.’s Centres (5th – 12th March 2001)

Meeting of International Integration among representatives of U.N.E.S.C.O., of the World Federation of U.N.E.S.C.O.’s Centres and U.N.E.S.C.O.’s Centres from the Mediterranean Area Countries (Algeria, Croatia, Spain, Greece, Italy, Morocco, Slovenia, Tunisia, entitled "To read to build the peace".

Participants: 30

This meetings aimed to stimulate the youth towards books inspired to the culture of peace, both in paper format than in multimedia format

b. Meeting for International Integration in Forte dei Marmi: Summer 2000

These meetings are aimed to strengthen and develop the relationships of co-operation and friendship among the Foundation and the persons who are involved in its activity of international integration among youth. This meetings take place in Forte dei Marmi (near Pisa) and are useful to gather new proposals of initiatives for following winter time
