  Brief description of the initiative:

   

Scholars and university students participating in the Wokshop have
exchange
d information connected with key problems of protection of culture heritage and
the human environment in different historical cities and experiences about
methods of solving problems on local scale in linkage with international
integration of common action (including more effective interdisciplinary
co-operation and application of new technical possibilities for early
detection risk factors and primary prevention against hazard to culture
and nature heritage).

The Project Leader was initiator and head of several
International Schools on the Human Environment and 10th Int.Conferences
on Sustainable Development and European co-opera
tion and will use the output
of these case studies, problems-solving training and meetings of experts
from natural, technical
(including architecture), social, economical
sciences and experiences of 35 years of leadership of voluntary,
interuniversity co-operation of professors, young scholars and university students in this
field.

Presentation of problems and results of pilot projects were
a starting point for common reflection about cross-cultural approach to
improvement
of quality of the environment, more effective conservation of old architecture, monuments, fine arts and promotion of sustainable development by international working groups of the participants.

The projects of promotion of common action for better quality of life and development of
eco-tourism in Florenze and different historical cities (including
practical recommendations) are expected output of the Workshop.
