Dear Colleagues
we are glad to inform you that the organization of the XVI International Conference and Symposium of the IIWC in Florence on the theme "From Material to Structure", with a special focus on the technical aspects of the failures of the timber structures, is proceeding well; the date of the meeting is confirmed in the week from 11 th November to 16th November 2007.
The choice of the theme is fully explained in the introduction; therefore no more words are necessary.
We thought that, due to the scientific nature of the Symposium, the cultural performances are more important than ephemeral pleasures like the Tuscan and Venetian food and similar though we will taste a consistent number of typical plates; according to this principle, we will be able to give you cultural products such as books and publications on timber structures.
At the same time we tried to keep low the amount of the participation fee.
The technical visits have been carefully planned in order to show you some of the most significant features of the Italian Patrimony; the visits to Venice and Vicenza will allow us a close approach to the wonderful Andrea Palladio's architectures.

Annexed the programme of the whole Meeting with the post-conference tour and the basic word-form for the early registration and the submission of the abstract.
